Chris Culliver’s camp has sprung into PR mode after Culliver made some homophobic comments before the Superbowl…

Chris Culliver spent a few hours yesterday at the Trevor Project, an organization that provides crisis and suicide intervention for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youths.
The 49ers star came under fire when comedian Artie Lange asked him during a Superbowl week radio appearance how he felt about the idea of a gay teammate in the locker room, he replied:
“I don’t do the gay guys man,I don’t do that. No, we don’t got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do. Can’t be with that sweet stuff. Nah…can’t be…in the locker room man. Nah.”
When asked by Lange whether any homosexual athletes would need to keep their sexuality a secret in football, Culliver responded:
“Yeah, come out 10 years later after that.”
Chris (like most homophobes) sounds like someone who’s not too comfortable with his own sexuality.
Time will tell. In 10 years or so.
